The Handweavers Guild of Nashville, founded in 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee, attracts members from throughout middle Tennessee, and as far away as Kentucky and northern Alabama. The Guild's primary goals are to preserve the historic craft of handweaving, and to promote and teach handweaving to current and future generations. |

With a membership of about 50, the Guild meets monthly, except summer. Most meetings feature a program on some aspect of fiber arts. In addition the Guild sponsors several workshops each year, taught by nationally recognized teachers, as well as by the Guild’s own members.
In 2005 the Guild found a home at the historic Two Rivers Mansion at 3130 McGavock Pike in Nashville. Guild meetings are held at the Mansion and the Guild’s equipment, library and other supplies are housed there, courtesy of the Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation Department.
Guild members demonstrate their craft locally and regionally at schools, scout groups, historic sites and craft fairs. The Guild is affiliated with Handweavers Guild of America. |
