Weaving and spinning equipment owned by the Handweavers Guild may be rented by members for a nominal fee. However, the member must be in good standing for at least six months before they are eligible to rent. Equipment available includes: an 8 harness Baby Wolf loom, a Pendleton 4 harness loom, a 2 harness table loom, 4 inkle looms and a warping reel. Other equipment includes pick up sticks, warping boards, ball winder, and shuttles of various types and sizes. Spinning wheels and equipment for preparing fiber prior to spinning are available. The Guild's library collection of books, magazines and other sources of information is one of the best in the state. The collection includes approximately 300 books, nearly 30 video tapes and slide sets. Current magazine subscriptions include Fiberarts, Handwoven, Shuttle Spindle and Dyepot, Spin-Off, Threads, Weavers, and Weavers Craft, as well as archival collections for many fiber arts magazines going back nearly 30 years. The library also includes swatch collections and notes from most of the Guild's workshops from the last 25 years. |
